A recent short write up of our work in the Westminster Network E-bulletin:

AN INSPIRING MORNING… One of the distinctive features of Westminster’s Community Network is the wealth of organisations, large and small, delivering a vast range of services across the borough. One such organisation is Mosaic Community Trust where I spent the morning recently – and came away thoroughly inspired by the great work taking place.

Mosaic works with women in the Church Street area of Westminster and on the morning I visited, an Indian Head Massage training session was taking place where around 20 participants were learning the necessary skills in order to practise as therapists. It was striking that the women are gaining so much more than simply the skills and knowledge needed for head massage. They are also improving their English, making new friends, gaining support with emotional health and wellbeing, and learning to support others in their community.

“Mosaic is all about empowering local communities through enabling women to have access to information, education, skills, experience and engagement – our approach is rights based, community led resulting in creating sustainable community assets in the form of empowered women,” says CEO Lena Choudary-Salter.

I was delighted to be lucky enough to have a head massage treatment myself and went away feeling relaxed, uplifted and very impressed! If you are a Westminster Community Network member and would like me to visit your organisation, simply send me an email.
