Art/Essay competition for young people

The Mosaic Community Trust organised a creative art, writing and music project. This project was open to Primary School children in the Westbourne area.

All they needed to do was collaborate with one or more friends on a piece of art, writing or music over the Easter holidays that expresses their views on:
 

• Different religions and cultures in their neighbourhood
• Their vision of a perfect community or neighbourhood

The project was administered through the local schools in Westbourne area. All entries were collected from the schools and submitted to form part of an evening exhibition and awards ceremony at Westbourne Park Family Centre.

Parents and other members of the local community including school teachers and religious leaders were invited to the award ceremony, where the Lord Mayor presented the awards to the participants.

There were cash prizes for the winners and the outcome of the project was covered in the local press.
